Bloodlines passes 1,000 downloads in 3 weeks
Last weekend, a short three weeks after its release, Bloodlines topped 1,000 downloads (that I know of), compiled among Manybooks, Smashwords, and Obooko. Vol. 1, Covenant, had taken eight months to accomplish the same number of downloads from those sites. Here are the current numbers, as of 9:30 p.m., July 2, 2010. (I see a large gap on my screen; scroll down for the table.)
Manybooks | Smashwords | Obooko | Total | |
Covenant | 1,480 | 447 | 43 | 1,970 |
Appetite | 1,466 | 443 | 40 | 1,949 |
Destiny | 1,233 | 451 | 35 | 1,719 |
Bloodlines | 862 | 164 | 29 | 1,055 |
I don't know how many actual downloads have occurred over at my Deviations site, but visitors have come from 83 countries/territories and six continents since May 2009.
Thank you, readers! To say I am thrilled at this is an understatement.
The series has two more books to go. I plan to release Vol. 5, TelZodo, in December. (Click here for a blurb and preview; contains spoilers if you haven't read earlier volumes.) The concluding Vol. 6 follows in mid-2011. I'll post that blurb and preview when TelZodo goes live.
I've also been exploring audiobook production and am in the middle of a fairly steep learning curve. Thanks to Craig Robertson, Nathan Lowell, and Kenn Crawford over at Podiobooks for their guidance! I've got a lot of sound editing ahead of me, but my goal is to have Covenant recorded and tidied up before the year is out.
Coming up: Ancient City Con in Jacksonville, FL, where I'll give workshops on plot/character development and speculative poetry. If you're at the con, please stop by and say hello! I'll be in Creator's Alley, with advance copies of She Nailed A Stake Through His Head: Tales of Biblical Terror from Dybbuk Press, along with other publications in which my work appears.
Vol. 3, Deviations: Destiny
Vol. 4, Deviations: Bloodlines

I just finished Covenant (after stumbling across it on ManyBooks.net). What a gripping, inventive story, and what lovely, frank writing! I'm thrilled to learn an entire TripStone series awaits me... Thank you, Elissa.
Thank you so much, Valerie! The series has six books in all. I plan to release Vol. 5 in December and the final installment in mid-2011 (also on Manybooks, Smashwords, and my website). So glad you enjoyed!
